The Korea Society of Forest Environment Research, an incorporated association, values the personal information of its users and complies with relevant laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act. This Policy takes effect on September 1, 2026.

In accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Korea Society of Forest Environment Research, an incorporated association (hereinafter the “Society”), establishes and discloses the following Privacy Policy in order to protect the personal information of data subjects and to promptly and smoothly handle related grievances.
The Society processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed shall not be used for any purpose other than those below, and if the purpose of use is changed, the Society will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent pursuant to Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
- Receipt and handling of inquiries — Verification of inquiries received through the website inquiry form, replies and responses, and notification of processing results
- Prevention of misuse of the website — Blocking abuse by spam or automated programs and taking legal action

Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)
The Society processes and retains personal information within the retention and use period prescribed by law or within the retention and use period consented to by the data subject at the time of collection.

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The Society processes the personal information of data subjects only within the scope specified in Article 1, and does not provide personal information to third parties except in cases falling under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as the consent of the data subject or special provisions of law. At present, the Society does not provide personal information to any third party.
Article 5 (Consignment of Personal Information Processing)
The Society does not currently consign the processing of personal information to any external party. Should the need for consignment arise in the future, the Society will disclose the consignee and the details of the consigned work through this policy without delay, and will obtain prior consent where necessary.
Article 6 (Procedures and Methods for Destroying Personal Information)
When personal information becomes unnecessary due to the expiration of the retention period or the achievement of the processing purpose, the Society destroys the relevant personal information without delay.
- Destruction procedure — Personal information whose retention period has expired is selected and destroyed by the administrator without delay.
- Destruction method — Information in the form of electronic files is destroyed using a technical method that renders the records unrecoverable (permanent deletion from the database), and personal information printed on paper documents is destroyed by shredding or incineration.
Article 7 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives, and Methods of Exercise)
Data subjects may exercise the following personal information protection rights against the Society at any time. Such rights may be exercised in writing, by email, by telephone, or by other means, and the Society will take action without delay.
- Request to access personal information
- Request to correct errors, if any
- Request for deletion
- Request to suspend processing
Article 8 (Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information)
The Society takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.
- Administrative measures — Minimizing the number of personnel handling personal information and managing access rights
- Technical measures — Access control for the personal information processing system, encryption of transmission sections (HTTPS), and retention of access records
- Physical measures — Access control for the locations where servers and materials are stored
Article 10 (Personal Information Protection Officer)
The Society designates a Personal Information Protection Officer as follows to take overall responsibility for tasks related to personal information processing and to handle complaints from data subjects and provide remedies for damages in connection with personal information processing.

This Privacy Policy applies from September 1, 2026. In the event of any addition, deletion, or modification of its content, notice will be given through this website at least seven days before the effective date.
